Bumpdate | Week 24

Hey everyone, I know I've been a little MIA from this blog recently.  Really I have no excuses other then life, and growing this little human!  I hope to get back to some more regular posts soon, so please bare with me.  Until then I'm stopping by with my weekly update on my growing belly.

Week|  24

Total Weight Gain| Too much!  I'm pushing a little over 20 pounds, at least that's what the scale at my doctors appointment said yesterday, so I really need to watch it.  Really though it isn't that surprising to me due to a few reasons.  One, before my pregnancy I was super strict with my diet, not that I've fallen off the band wagon now, but I know that I'm consuming a lot more calories then I was previously and a lot more carbs then before.  Two, I know that I'm exercising way less then I was pre pregnancy as well, so I've got more calories coming in and less going out, generally a pretty good equation for weight gain even without pregnancy.  So, I know I have to be better!

Gender| Baby Girl!

Symptoms| The linea nigra that started to appear the other week seems to be creeping further up my belly, passing my belly button, though it's still really faint.  Other then that I've been experiencing some occasional swelling (i.e. my face in that picture above!) but usually just temporary, and especially in my feet on some of these warmer days when I'm on my feet in my dance shoes a lot.

Cravings|  Unfortunately lately I seem to want nothing.  Not that I'm not hungry, because boy am I hungry.  It just seems like nothing sounds all that great, or I can't make up my mind of what I want, but as I said before I'm going to make myself get back on track with more healthy habits.

Sleep|  I would say pretty decent 90% of the time, but for some reason lately me and Saturday nights just don't get along.  Which really kinda stinks because that's the end of my work week, and usually I'm just exhausted by then and I feel SO incredibly tired, and then I just end up tossing and turning all night long.

Clothes|  Stretch for the win!  I picked up a few new dresses this last week to wear at some upcoming events we have for work, and a few maxi dresses for when it really starts to warm up.

Workouts| I didn't do as good as the week before.  I only popped in my workout DVD once, but I spent a good chunk of time doing yard work this past weekend and that has to count for something, right?!  Man has that gotten harder now that I'm pregnant!

Nursery|  Martin has been working hard at patching and painting the board and batten that was already in the room, and adding a coat of poly to the craigslist dresser that we picked up so it will stand up to the test of a baby and probably many wipe downs.  Also all of our goodies that we ordered have come in, so I have a pile of new flooring sitting in my living room and a crib box and rug waiting in my guest room.

Movement|  I swear she doesn't like me working or something.  She seems to be so so active on the weekends, and then my work week starts and she barely makes an appearance.  Every now and again she'll flutter throughout the day.  This last weekend I saw some movement from the outside for the first time, that was definitely a little crazy!

Best Moment this Week|  Hearing her strong little heart beat at my doctors appointment yesterday, I just love hearing that and knowing that she's doing ok in there.  And, this may sounds weird, but getting our yard work done, because I swear we were the last house on the block to get it going this spring!

  1. Looking good! Your bump is still tiny! I hear ya on the yard work...half of our flowers are planted, and I swear we may never get the rest in the ground because it's been raining, raining, raining. I've been in desperate need of a sunny that (that's finally showing up today!). You might check with your doctor about taking Tylenol PM to help you sleep...that's what I've been doing for nights when I'm so exhausted but my body is just fighting the sleep!
