Bathroom Remodel: It's Time!

I am writing this post to give myself a kick in the butt to get this project  started already!  Let me give you a little background. . .

We have 2 full bathrooms in our house, you can check it out on the floor plans.  Our downstairs bath was one of the first projects we took on when we moved in, so it is updated (for the most part) and significantly larger then our upstairs bath.  Due to that our downstairs bath is the one we primarily use for our everyday getting ready.

This past summer we had some extended house guests for the first time ever.  Usually we just have people for the weekend, and it's no big deal.  This time we had people for a few months.  The guest bedroom is right next to the downstairs bath, so naturally it would also be used by them.  Meaning my everyday getting ready bathroom became the upstairs bathroom.

After spending a few months in my teeny tiny upstairs bathroom it was motivation enough to pull the trigger on getting this remodel going.  Meaning I got motivated and planning this fall, and now many many, many months later we are still sitting with the same old bathroom.

The good news is, I've actually purchased a handful of the products already for the renovation!  Now I just have to use them, minor technicalities!

Here is the little clip of the upstairs bath from the floor plan.  See, it's really tiny!  Not only that, but it also has a sloped ceiling.  Several years ago we did a Stage 1 makeover.  Taking down floral wallpaper, replacing the vanity, mirror, and lighting, and adding a fresh coat of paint.  Now it's time to get rid of the tile and tub!  I don't have before pictures yet, but don't worry they will be coming next week.  Remember this is my motivation post, for me to get on it already!

Shower Door / Hooks / Paint / Vanity / Tile 1 / Tile 2

I have already purchased the shower door, and all of the tile.  It is all just sitting there, waiting to be used!  The vanity is what is already there, but I haven't decided if it will stay as is or if I will make any tweaks to it.  I'm thinking of going with the same paint color that I used in the office, Behr's Irish Mist.

My goal is to get demo started this weekend!  I want to get on it before spring fully gets here and I won't want to be inside working on a project.  The first part will definitely be the hardest - the tub is coming out!  Never done that before.

Now that I've put it out there, I've got to do it, right?!?
