High Five For Friday

I know it's been a common theme lately, but once again I am so glad the weekend is almost here!  It was awesome to get to share our big news with everyone this week, it makes everything feel that much more real, not that my growing midsection didn't make it feel real already, but now it's not just on the down low.

Here are a few snapshots from this past week.

1.  On Sunday Chicagoland was hit with a crazy blizzard where we ended up with about 19 inches of snow, but I was determined to get my errands done!  I had wasted the last two Sunday essentially napping on the couch and I felt so behind, so Martin and I hit the road.  The only probably we had is that all the stores starting closing early, even Ikea was closing!  We got about half of our errands done before we called it quits and headed home.

2.  On Monday I had my 12 week appointment and it's always such a relief to me to get a good healthy report from the doctor.  We got to hear the baby's heartbeat and see it crossing it's legs and sucking it's thumb during the ultrasound.

3.  I made my first maternity clothes purchase this week.  I picked up a pair of pants from A Pea In The Pod and ordered a few tank from Old Navy.  Any suggestions for great maternity clothes?  Please tell!  Because from what I'm finding I'm not loving much.  Why do all maternity clothes have horizontal stripes?  Do we really need to look wider?

4.  I love these girls,  I love watching them on Nashville, and I think they have the most amazingly beautiful voices.

5.  I'm getting my hair cut today!  I'm taking my inspiration photos from last week and I'm so excited.  It's been years since I've really done something different and I'm ready for something new.

I can't believe we're seriously already done with one week in February.  Enjoy whatever is on your plate this weekend, see you next week!

  2. Oh my gosh SO MUCH SNOW! We North Carolinians would never be out running errands in that! It's so funny to see how some are so affected by snow and others aren't at all!

  3. You got a bunch of snow! All we've had here is cold cold and more cold (with wind). I'm ready for Spring!
Such an exciting week for you guys!! So happy to hear everything is looking good with the baby :)
Can't wait to see what your haircut looks like--that reminds me, I need to schedule an appt soon!

  4. Oh my goodness, all the snow, wow. We've had very little here, just the freezing temperatures.

Glad the baby is doing well, so exciting! :)

  7. I bought jeans from The Gap when I was pregnant. My bf is currently pregnant and she just got some from them online for super cheap. For shirts, I pretty much went up a size. I was lucky that empire waist tops were in back in 2008 at American Eagle so that's pretty much all I wore.

  8. Congratulations! I just read your other posts, and I am so unbelievably happy for you! I just recently experienced a miscarriage while we have been trying to conceive our 2nd, and even though blogging about it helped, it's still pretty raw.

I'm so glad you were able to get your little sticky bean! I loved destination maternity and Target for cute clothes, bc I agree, horizontal stripes? Yeah I looked gigantic with them haha.

Thanks for linking up for H54F!

  10. Typically I wouldn't be eager to be out in that at all, if I hadn't wasted away my previous 2 Sundays I would have been crashing on the couch all day!

  11. We got a TON which is making spring feel like it's a million miles away! You'll get to see my hair cut in my bumpdate this week, it's still growing on me!!

  12. My only philosophy is that the snow makes the cold temps a little more bearable because it makes it a little more pretty, but all this snow makes it feel like spring is miles away!

  13. I totally wouldn't have if I hadn't wasted away the previous two weekends! I was determined to get things done, plus I had a hubby that dosen't care about driving in that kind of weather, and our suv handles great in the snow, otherwise my butt would have been on the couch!

  15. Thanks, I've been scoping out jeans at the Gap. I will try just going up a size in shirts when the time comes and see if that does the trick because seriously maternity clothes kinda make me cringe for the most part!

  16. Thanks Caitlin. I'm sorry about your loss, nothing will take it away but it will get easier in time.
I just cross my fingers that we don't have any hiccups this time around. I've definitely spotted some good things at Target, but seriously they need to lay off the horizontal stripes! Hope you had a good weekend.
