October Favorites

I'm in a little bit of denial that we are jumping into November, and that Thanksgiving is just a few weeks away.  While I'm excited for the Holiday season to arrive, I don't feel quite prepared to start thinking about gifts and shopping.  I will get my brain wrapped around it soon enough, but in the mean time here are a few of the products that I was loving in October.

I of course, in true fashion, ran out of several of my skin care products at once.  I was on the hunt to try something new, that hopefully fell into the more natural category.  I hit up Whole Foods to check out their selection, and ended up coming home with an Andalou Naturals Get Started Brightening Skin Care Set.  I had never heard of it before, and I always like to give things a try before I jump right into the bigger products.  This seemed like a middle of the road product, not the most pricey, but not the cheapest either.  I liked that all of their products were based around fruit stem cells, and are made naturally without sulfates, GMO's, petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrances, colors, or preservatives.

When I used them I could actually smell the fruit in them, they smelled just like the fruits when we juice them and drink them which made me feel confident it was the actual product in there and not some fake version of it.  They felt so nourishing on my skin that within a week I went back for the full size products.  I started with the Andalou Naturals Meyer Lemon Creamy Cleanser, Andalou Naturals Clementine + C Illuminating Toner, and the Andalou Naturals Purple Carrot + C Luminous Night Cream.  So far I'm still loving them all, but my favorite is the night cream.  It's so rich and moisturizing without being greasy and heavy.  I'm definitely going to go back for the day cream once I run out of my current moisturizer, and I have a sample of the face mask that I have yet to give a try.

In the home department, I received a coupon from Bath & Body Works for a free 3 wick candle.  How cool is that?!  Usually they are over $20 when they are not on sale, it was so hard to pick one, so I didn't, I came home with two.  But so far this is the one that I have been burning.  It's the perfect fall smell for me.  I'm not a big one on most of the traditional fall scents like pumpkin and cinnamon.  But the Bath & Body Works Fireside Candle smells musky and masculine, almost like a mens cologne, but not over powering at all.

For beauty I fell in love with 2 products in particular.  First off is Benefits High Beam.  I had a sample of this laying around that I hadn't broken into yet, and now that I have I'm thinking when it runs out I am going to for sure pick up the full size.  It's a great highlighter and a little goes a long way.  All you have to do is dab a little on the apples of your cheeks, or wherever you'd like a little pick me up, right on top of your make up, this is the last thing I do when putting on my make up.  And then use your finger to blend and you have an instant glow, love it.

I'm also loving Tarte Amazonian Butter Lipstick in Angelic Nude.  I had shared another Tarte lipstick as a previous monthly favorite, and I liked the formula so much I went back for another shade.  The Angelic Nude is the perfect neutral lipstick for me, it gives me just enough that you can tell them I am wearing it.  I love the subtle mint that it has in it, and it feels so nice on, not heavy and sticky like some other lipsticks can feel.  It's not long lasting at all, so you have to reapply often, but it does leave a hint of color on your lips even once it's worn off.

I'm liking these lipsticks so much that I just placed an order for a 5 piece set I found on Ulta.  When I went to look up the link for this post this set came up, and it's 5 lipsticks for $33.  You can't beat that seeing as each once is $16.  Super excited to try all the colors.
