My Friday Five

Hello August. . .I can't believe you are here!  I always remember when I was a kid the feeling that summer was over when August arrived, it signaled was time to get ready to go back to school.  I guess the good thing about not having a summer break is that there isn't that disappointing time when you realize it's coming to an end, gotta look on the bright side!

Here's a look back at a few of the highlights from my last week of July.

1| I love that we are finally starting to get a harvest out of our garden.  I know it's just the beginning of what's to come, but I was able to make zucchini bread with our zucchini's, and Martin used some of our home grown green peppers and onions to make a tasty batch of fajitas.

2|  I came across this juicing recipe and had Martin make it for me, it was super tasty and if it actually helps with cellulite I'll consider it a bonus!

3|  I came home from work on Tuesday night to this nice little surprise, a flower and card from the husband definitely made my night.

4| It has officially been a week since I have given up my morning cup of coffee.  Now I only have one cup of coffee a day, it's the only thing I extremely look forward to each morning, but I didn't think I was that dependent on the caffeine, I guess I should think again!  Why is there nothing that is nearly as satisfying as that morning cup of coffee?! I don't know that this will be a permanent change, but it was something I wanted to try based on some things I had read about it lately, so I am a week strong and still going!

5| I am really trying to figure out how to manage my time better, although I haven't quite figured it out yet, I have at least finally realized that that is what I need to do.  Hopefully that is the first step to not feeling like I always have so much on my plate!

I am looking forward to the weekend as always, but especially excited this weekend to put the finishing touches on our bathroom remodel, it has been a long time coming!  Stay tuned next week for the final reveal, I can't wait!  Have a great weekend!

  2. You should, it was really yummy! I was worried about the ginger, but you couldn't even really tell it was in there.

  3. I love zucchini break...but wouldn't have the first clue as to how to make it myself! And how sweet is your husband...love his thoughtfulness in leaving you a note and flower! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I do have a soda in the mornings to get me going. I've tried to cut it out before, but the caffeine headaches always win and force me to go back to the addiction. I have cut down to the mini cans though! Baby steps, baby steps!

  4. Happy Friday girl! So sweet of your hubby to bring you home a flower. And it's always the best when the garden is starting to harvest!
